90gr or 125gr on HP's

just wondering which would have better luck on expansion on a 9mm HP round. i have the option of 85-90gr mold or a 125gr mold. my thinking is that for the best expansion i would want a heavier softer round, but my thinking is sometimes incorrect. someome school me please.

defining and refining

What is the goal for your bullet?
What work do you wish it to perform upon target impact?

The 90 gr may not cycle a semi-auto consistently. They work but you have to load the on the high end of recommended powder charges. 90 gr is better suited for .380 acp.

The 125's give me very reliable cycle and terminal results vs the 90.
