In this manual on page 3,they have Hornady 240 SWC ,.430,oal 1.630.
H-2400
11.7gr-800 fps
12.3gr-850 fps
13.0gr-900 fps
13.0gr-950 fps
and the last one at max 14.4gr at 1000 fps
Has anyone ever used these's loading formulas. They seem so low,are they safe to use ?

I think I would get something faster burning for subsonic loads in a magnum. A local guy wanted to try CAS so he just dressed up and loaded his .44 SBHs with 13 grains of 2400 instead of the usual 22 grain Keith load. The ammo was dirty and erratic because it did not get up into the normal temperature and pressure for smooth burn of 2400.
How about a can of Unique or Universal?

Yeah, what Jim said.................

Unique, Blue Dot, Herco, AA#5 or 7, etc., etc.

2400 is good for loads in the .44Mag on the upper end of the scale. Excellent for cast loads though. It should be used in the 75% and up area.
4227 is another good cast bullet powder. I mainly use 2400 though....."shades of Elmer".

If you're looking for some lower end stuff, like the cowboy action loads, try Green Dot. Alliant has data for cowboy loads. Green Dot is the 'sleeper' for 44 mag. sundog
