I have a Winchester Mod. 70 short action that I had a Jewel trigger put in. I like the trigger but to install it the trigger guard had to be filed out to accept the trigger as well as a little work on the stock. Does any one know if you can drop a Timney trigger in a mod. 70 short or long action if that matters, without having to work on the stock or the trigger guard?

This is sort of a FWIW, but from pictures of the Jewell, its housing is longer than the Timney. The Timney is a drop-in in a Ruger 77, I know. (Other than a small amount of grinding for the safety to fit-up.)
Somebody'll know for sure... Art [This message has been edited by Art Eatman (edited February 21, 2000).] |

Jeffly, I've seen them drop right in and I've seen them require a little inletting. You'll just have to try it and see. There is nothing hard about it. If you have to inlet a little it won't be much. George
