Action for a 338-378 Weatherby Magnum
I am wanting to have a 338-378 custom made. The gunsmith I am talking to is great but he is very old school and usually make's just the common calibers. He said he is concerned about finding an action for the 338-378. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we can find a good, and fairly affordable action?

About the only actions you will find that will accept the cartridge you are considering are the CZ, Weatherby Mark V and P17 Enfield actions. There are other actions available, but harder to come by.

I think for the price you cant beat the 1917 Remington Enfield action. I made a 416 Rigby and a 340 Weatherby on one and they worked out great.
(dont make them too light like I did on my 416 Rigby, it hurts, didnt matter on the 340, it was for someone else, guess he was tougher then I was)
