Love mine. It's on my Remington 597, the glass is clear and bright. I can't think of any real negatives but it is being used on a 22lr semi auto rifle, I don't know how it well it would work on a higher power gun.

I have the 2~8X32 Monarch on a centrfire 30 caliber & love it. Its actually a little better than a comparable Leupold in some minor ways. The lower range models won't be quite that god, but the older 3~9X40 ProStaff I had worked fine as well.

If I really think I can find 2 minor things that might be better, neither of which would stop me buying another one. The turrets are a tad bulky, & bI wish Nikon would actually release the target type turret knobs they've been offering for a long time but never delivering.

I have a prostaff scope on a 7mm Mag. Fired at least 200 rounds thru it with the Nikon mounted to it. The scope is a bargain.

Nikon PROSTAFF

Reb., It will hold up to 5.56/.223 or whatever else you want to use it on. I took a PROSTAFF 3-9 BDC that I have, mounted it on my Brown Precision .375 H&H and talked 3 buddies into shooting 3 20 round boxes of shells. Absolutely zero issues with the scope. My buddies shoulders were a tad tweaked, but the scope functioned as I knew it would.
I am currently using 2 PROSTAFF 3-12 BDC's on my .308 and my son's .308 bolt avtion rifle.
Drop me a note with any questions.

Here's a pic of my father in law with my .308 and PROSTAFF scope.
