vz 24?

Is the 1 piece scope mounts the same as a standard 98 mauser?All the one piece mounts that I can find just list 98 mauser.The vz 24 is drilled for a scope with three holes( 2 front 1 rear) whereas my 98 has 4 holes (2 front 2 rear).

The Redfield and Leupold Mauser 98 mount is designed for converted military rifles. If you want the mount with 4 holes, look for the FN or Mark X mount.

I have always used the Redfield one piece - you can get in big trouble (although it can be used successfully) with Weavers on the Mausers!

In my opinion you've got the "best" of the 98s! I've used them for everything - my last one is a 9.3X64 - the equal of the 375 H&H. No set-back or other problem!

ohwoody: As for the fourth hole just use a plug screw to cover up the hole and to protect the threads in that fourth hole.

I used the word hole three times, someone take this shovel out of my hands!
