What's the largest 380 handgun?

I know there are some fairly large (for 380) pistols out there. What are the pistols with the longest barrel length, and biggest OAL?

Glock 25 is a .380 and the size of the Glock 19...that's pretty big. Though you may have to go to South America to find one.

For a conventional pistol, the 1907 Husqvarna has been converted to .380 from the 9mm Browning Long for import to the US, and it is a bit larger than the standard 1908 Colt .380.

I believe the PT-38 is a .38 Super. The OP asked for .380. The Taurus PT-58 is rather large,

The Cobray M12 has a 32 round magazine and it weighs 44 ounces. It's huge!

I went through the whole 2011 Taurus catalog and I didn't see the PT-58. Maybe it's been replaced by the Model 2011-380B ???

But anyway, the Walther PK380 is larger

Taurus PT 58
OAL - 6.125"
Barrel - 3.25"

Walther PK380
OAL - 6.5"
Barrel - 3.66"

But the Walther is also slimmer, and only holds 8+1 whereas the Taurus holds 19+1

The CZ 83 is larger still:

CZ 83
OAL - 6.80"
Barrel - 3.80"

But not as big as the Glock:

Glock G25
OAL - 6.85"
Barrel - 4.02"

The regular Hi-Point is 6.75" with a 3.5" barrel. There is one with a muzzle compensator (Leave it to Hi-Point to come up with that one) but anyway I'm not going to count a compensator.

So aside from the Cobray, the Glock 25 may be the largest production 380 being produced.

Imbel makes a hi-cap 1911 in .380, but it's not sold in the U.S.

The PT-58 has been discontinued which is a shame since it was a more affordable alternative to the Beretta 84.

From what I read the Taurus PT-58 was reliable, but it did have some fit and finish problems. When I say finish - I mean people had problems with them rusting. As far as fit, those problems manifested as difficutly getting them dissasembled / re-assembled.

I've been thinking about how I can get the G25

I'm doing more research as I go along. The Beretta 86 seems to be the largest I've run across. I tried to find the IMBEL (Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil ) - 1911 in 380 ACP but they don't have it listed on their site.

Beretta 86
OAL - 7.28"
Barrel -4.37"

Ya gotta love Taurus checkers & editors. I guess it's not as bad as H&K publishing an advert with bullets loaded backwards in the magazine...

The specifications for the PT638:

Capacity: 0+1
Barrel Length: 0
Length: 0

Glock put an LCI on the G25 which puts it over the top for passing BATFE's inane point scale, but they just don't ship them to the U.S.

But theoretically, people should be able to import a G25 with the LCI from any country that has them.

There are Beretta 86's out there.

They range in price between $475 to $575. I think that's the problem that most people have with them, or maybe with large 380 Autos in general. They cost as much as a 9mm. Why shell out 550 bucks and end up with a 380 when you can spend the same money or a little more and get a 9mm or 40 cal?

But anyway, there are NIB Beretta 86s for sale if you Google them.

Sure they do: http://www.imbel.gov.br/index.php?op...mid=28&lang=en

It's a Commander-size 1911, with a 4-1/4" barrel. Originally offered in both single and double stack, I believe the single stack has been replaced by a 9x19mm version. Not imported to the U.S. I've been trying for several years to find a way to bring one in. I think it's legal for a private import, the problem is they are rare, and none of my contacts in South America can source one for me.

Correction -- looks like it was the double stack that changed to 9x19.

I didn't think these could be them because I thought "Cano (mm)
108" meant overall length. I just did an online translation of cano, and realize that they're listing barrel length.

I think IMBEL takes the prize for making the largest over-all 380, (I'm guessing 7.75") but the barrel on the Beretta 86 is actually longer than the IMBEL
