CCW Question?
My CCW permit expired about 18 months ago, so my question is can I still renew it or do I have to take the class all over again? I'm from Michigan.
Thanks, Tim |

I would contact the issuing authority and ask them.

yes call them. if the class is good for life(in my state it is - not sure about michigan), you should be able to just mail a copy of the course along WITH the expired ID. basically, you lose time during processing because you didn't renew at the proper time. This doesn't mean you have to start from scratch.

It seems like Don provided some good information for you but I'd give them a call as well.
In Kentucky for example, so long as I continue to renew my CCW license, my training class is valid, however, if I let my license lapse for 6 months (don't quote me on that, I don't remeber the exact time frame) I have to take the class over again.

Just called them and in Michigan we never expire for a renewal so all I got to do is get my passport photo, complete my renewal form and give them $105 and go see the gun board and I'm good to go, thanks everyone!
