135gr RNFP at 1240 fps?
Caliber: .357 SIG
Bullet: 135 Grain RNFP FMJ I need to move it at least 1240 fps to make major power factor. I have Winchester and Alliant, but neither lists a 135 grain load. I'm still gathering infor for my .357 vs. .45 gun decision. DOC

Alliant Power Pistol.
Use 147g data, and work up slow.

Accurate Arms lists several loads using 130gr JHP's with velocities ranging from 1179-1285fps. I'd start with 9.4gr of AA #7 under your 135gr FMJ bullets and work up to the velocity you need.

I only got 13% over max Alliant load before getting in trouble with Power Pistol and 357 Sig.
Max book load, 125 gr JHP, 1.14" 8.6 gr Power Pistol, 1357 fps National Bullet 125 gr FP FMJ plated 357 Sig bullet. 1.166" OAL, Starline brass, Power Pistol, WSP primers 9.5 gr: no bulge, primer ok 9.7 gr: bad bulge, missing primer I think I will try a slower powder, like AA#9 next. |
