IDPA Revolver
I recently picked up a S&W 625 JM for IDPA and other competitions. It has the gold bead front sight, which seems to blend right in with the tan targets. I would like to try a glow type sight, anyone have a suggestion? Would it be too fragile pulling it out of the holster?

SDM makes fibre optic sights for S&W.
http://www.sdmfabricating.com/ I think Brownells sells them and maybe another brand, my catalog is not handy. MY holster is Kydex with a rigid sight track that does not touch the front sight and cannot hurt it. www.pistolpacking.com |

Thanks Jim, I have a Bladetech on order which I believe the same as your Kydex, so I should be OK. I'm going to pickup a glow type sight, they snap in and out real quick if I dont like it.
I was wondering if anyone else had the "blend in" problem with the gold bead. Im 58 so maybe its an age thing. Ken Orris |

Well, I am 61 and the fibre optic front sight is the greatest innovation in action pistol shooting like IDPA that I have seen in recent times.
I have not worked with a gold bead pistol sight, but the ones I have seen have the bead on the back of a vertical post where it does not catch the light for a glint on target the way you would think it should. |
