broken extractor
I have a Star Firestar 40S&W with a broken extractor. I have posted here before and used all the suggestions I received here but can't get my pistol repaired. On a forum, it might have been here, someone had the same problem. From what I recall they found a gunsmith that built up the extractor and filed it down. Is this a possible fix for me and where can I find a gunsmith that would do it?

Yes, due to the unavailability of Star parts, having a gunsmith manufacture an extractor for your pistol is about the only solution you have.

www.iparguns.com may have parts.
Making an extractor shouldn't be that difficult for a gunsmith. |

New extractor
Give "lee's gun parts" in irving, texas a try. They have a good supply of hard to find parts.

I have to give Scorch a very big thank you for giving me the name of Taylor Machine John Taylor just sent back my Star Firestar 40S&W. It had a broken extractor and you just can't get parts for these now. I emailed Taylor Machine
explained my problem and asked him if he was willing to repair it for me, he took on the job and I have my gun back today. He made me a new extractor I just came back from the range it worked flawlessly. I can't say enough good things about Taylor Machines. |
