M&P-15 sight mounting question

I just bought an M&P-15 (has carry handle and tall M-16 type front sight). I took the carry handle off and put an MBUS pop-up rear sight. I thought I'd put on a red-dot I have, but it was way too low. The Tapco riser mount from Cabela's is too long to allow the mounting of both the riser and the MBUS pop-up rear sight aft.
Any suggestions for this? Are there shorter risers available? I don't mind looking past the fixed front sight thru the red-dot, but want to be able to raise the rear sight and go "manual mode".
I really like this rifle; it shoots like a dream!

Look for risers from burris. Find it pretty much anywhere on line such as here.

They make all kinds of risers, they also make mounts in different configurations to meet different needs. Primary Arms is a good place to look.

+1 on Primary Arms, they have a budget PA mount and several other from import to high end. I've been shooting with a PA micro on a co-witness ADM mount all summer and I'm very pleased with it.
