How Do You Pick Scope Rings?
I'm finally getting a scope for my FAL. I've pciked the scopes and the mount, but I have no idea how to choose the rings. I'm getting a 3-9x40 Leupold VariX II on a ARMS mounts. I am looking at the Leupold quick-release rings, but can't figure out which one will fit while clearing the iron sights.

If you can guestimate the height that you want of the center of the scope to the top of the base, you can go to Brownells website,
http://www.brownells.com/index.html and find the measurements of the ring heights of most, if not all, of the ring manufacturers including Leupold. Most of the measurements are from top of the base to the center of the ring (scope). Leupold has a scope ring selector function on their website but they do not list an FAL as a rifle selection.
