I'd like to dabble with a couple of V V powders, but the normally VERY good suppliers in Spokane do not carry it. Is there a supplier in the Seattle area? (jtduncan, can you help?) I know I can buy it mail order, but with the haz fee, it would be a mighty expensive pound!

Hi Chap,
I think I saw a few VV powders at Black Sheep Sporting goods in Coeur d' Alene yesterday. Also call Nyla at Bill Johnson's Cheveron on the corner of Wellsley and Alberta she had a reload business and I believe she may have it or can get it. They generally provide supplies for Trap and shotgunning but can get most anything. 325-3895

Good ideas, but neither panned out for VV powders. Nyla said that the distributor dropped it. (Her prices on shotgun supplies are good)
Anyone over there on the WEsT side of the state have a supplier for VV powder? Chap |

Chap:
Kesselrings in Snohomish County should carry some. Don't have their number but they sell to most of the gun dealers in Seattle. Just a couple of places I've seen selling VV. Pinto's Guns in Kent 253-859-6333 WSI in Bellevue 425-649-8623 Wade's in Bellevue 425-649-5995 Dan's in Renton 800-565-2689 Federal Way Guns at 253-927-5229 I'm interest in some VV350 or V3N37 myself. Looking for a real slow pistol powder for my 9mm carbine. Good luck.

Anyone in the Spokane/CD'A area should check out Pro-Load in Post Falls. Not only do they sell their own premium ammo, but they sell VV and Ramshot powders, bulk jacketed bullets, and bulk hard cast bullets for very reasonable prices. Hard to find, but you will never forget it when you go!

Hi Chap,
since I last swaped posts with you I have discovered Pro-Load in Post Falls. I bought 1000 9mm 124 JRN for $32.00 and 500 230 lead burgess bullets for $23.95 for my .45ACP.. Have you tried the Ram Shot powders? I wish there were small trial sizes like toothpase and such so a guy could load a few to try without having to spend $15-20 to find out he does not like a powder. |

I buy VV powder at Lynwood Guns and Amunition on highway 99.
I take the 220th exit [Mount Lake Terrace] off I5 and go north when I hit 99. He has allot of strange wildcats he invented there. Also there are 50 BMG and 20mm guns he has built. It is not the gun culture Meca that Kesselrings is, but still not to be missed in the Seattle area. The biggest retailer of handloading supplies in the Seattle are is Adventure Sports, on 99 about 3 mile south of Lynwood Guns and Ammo. On the east side, Wade's and WSI both sell VV powder. |

Coolray,
No on the Ramshot... yet.. Heck, I haven't even tried the VV340 I recently bought. Ramshot Silhouette is REMARKABLY similar to WAP. It is the only Ramshot powder made in the US, instead of Europe and it was "developed for 9mm NATO rounds" which is exactly what WAP stated. The guys at ProLoad definately know their stuff. I'm sure I'll be returning their frequently. Chap. |

Coolray,
I've been using Ramshot True Blue for over a year now, and love it! Best powder I've ever used in my 45 Colt Blackhawk, excellent in 357, and still working on 9mm Luger, but looking pretty good so far. Next is 9mm Makarov, and if it works as well there, I will have found the one powder that does it all well! That title was previously held by W231, but Ramshot True Blue is giving it a run for the money. One thing I've found, is that True Blue does like the higher pressure loadings in the calibers I've tried, so I'll stick to W231 for plinking loads. AA#5 is pretty good in my 45 Blackhawk, but not as clean or consistant, as True Blue. Try it, I think you will like it! Bill |

"Bullseye" guns in Tacoma usually has a good supply of V-V powders, and is reasonably priced. I've been getting my N340 from them since I started using it. I'm sold on N340 in .45acp. I need to use a revolver in my instructor training class coming up soon and am going to try it out in .44 special. Stay safe.

Chap,
Call this number 360 724-3113, Kesselring Gun Shop Burlinton. I do not know the price of V V powder but he supposenly has the cheapest price in the State for almost all powders. Hodgons, Dupont, Alliant, etc. are at $16.14 lb,this includes the 7.8% tax. This was at the 1st of this year. Coyote Hunter |

Nanaimo,
Pro Load is at 5180 E Seltice Way in Post Falls, ID. It is about 1 mile east of the HWY 41 exit on I-90. Call for their hours at 208 773 9444. The store is on the south side of the street in a cluster of small industrial shops. You will not be dissapointed. Chap |

Thanks for Kesselring's phone number.
One of these days I've got to get up there. Between turkey and deer hunting, trap shooting, GSSF, Little league, church, and a wife and three boys, I haven't been able to make the trip yet.
