Mikeu,
I have a model 949, which is the same as the 950 except the 949 is blue instead of nickel. I am sure I have the owners sheet for it. I would be happy to scan it and send it to you. My 949 is a 1980 piece. do you know what year your 950 was produced? It shouldn't make alot of difference, as there were not too many changes in the model through the years.
Also the owners sheet is VERY general, no technical info, just care, cleaning, sighting, loading info. It is a 1 page sheet, printed on both sides. Not much to it, but still nice to have, I will dig the box out and make sure I have it.
Jim
p,s, I just noticed, you mentioned the 950 is a single action revolver. It is actually a double action piece. Email me or Pm me your email addess, and I will send it to you

H&R 940 Revolver Manual

Thanks for the offer! If you can e-mail a copy to me that would be great.

I am trying to figure out if it is supposed to have a "reloading" notch that holds the hammer open while your rotate the cylinder for loading and unloading.

Mike,
You have mail!
I sent the email before I read your post, so I missed answering.
Unless there is a problem with the revolver, you just put the hammer in half cock position. This should allow the cylinder to free wheel for loading thru the loading gate.
Best
Jim
