Daughter on Gun Control
So my daughters were visiting tonight, in the car the radio is on the news and they are talking about gun control. I haven't brought the topic up and have just been asking about school, volleyball, etc... Evidently my eldest is listening to the news because as I turn off the car and we get out, she says about the President's proposals - "That is so stupid. It won't do any good." She then tells me,"In school Psychology class Mr. ____, our teacher asked us how many of you support gun control? Nobody raised their hand. Then he asked us, how many of you support less gun control and we all raised our hands."
Made me smile - there is hope. I live in Illinois so I hope kids in other states are learning about guns, gun safety, and the politics of gun control. I've never pushed guns or my politics on my kids, just taught them to value reading, education, and thinking for themselves. |

Good for her and you as Dad. Sadly by teaching her the value of reading, education and thinking for herself you have made unsuitable as a political candidate.

Thank you. I did the same with my daughter. She's 23 now and thinks more gun control is stupid too. |

Just goes to prove there are still some very intelligent kids in this country. She sounds like she is smarter than the majority of those on Capitol Hill. If a young adult can understand this, why the hell can't all of the sheep and the Representatives that are anti's..
Be proud, I hope my daughter, when she grows up, has the common sense that yours does.. Great post, it Ives me hope...
