Working 3D printed lower.

Well after making a file to print standard 30 round magazines they have now succeeded in creating a file to print a working AR-15 lower downloadable on the internet and printable on the more inexpensive 3D printers.

It is, unless he decides to manufacturing them for sale.

That's some truly wretched shooting technique. It's as if he's trying to milk a cow rather than press the trigger.

Not an atty but my understanding that it is legal for personal use. Of course there may be local of state laws that affect the issue of legality depending where one lives.

Just fascinating watching the continuing advancement of technology, that changes the basic equation of things.

you are allowed to make a firearm for your own use. you can not make and sell for profit or as a business without the proper FFL and any state/local permits and licenses ...

you can not make any NFA regulated devices with out the proper ffl and permits from state/local, etc...

check ot the FAQ on the BATF website...

also, lots of folks can turn an 80% lower into a complete lower or turn a kit (AK or sten, etc..) into a gun with simple tools and supplies (it even shows you how onlne to properly heat treat an ak flat or a tube for a sten...

I can rent a 3d printer for a month, buy $200 worth of materials and have as many as 90 receivers in a month now.
I have no idea what actually material costs would be, I just know it is dirt cheap. Electric costs are probably more.

It always makes me smile when I contribute to a successful project, no matter how small my contribution may be.
