i pocket carry the glock 19, should i get the glock 26?

the glock 19 fits in my cargo pants pocket with a romera holster but its tight. would the 26 be a whole lot better?

i tried some of the other small single stack 9mm pocket pistols, i don't like the way they shoot and honestly i don't trust them.

i will not carry inside the waistband. period. not gonna happen.

If you can manage a G19 in a pocket then the G26/27 would be comfortable improvement for sure.
Its shorter in every direction, thus a bit lighter from the start, plus your hauling less ammo weight.
I think you'd see a very noticable difference between the two.

Good lord! How big are your pockets? I carry a G19 in a Serpa holster and it would never cross my mind to pocket carry the gun. I have a Kel Tec P3AT for deep concealment.

Get the G26, you will be glad you did and your pockets will thank you.

Pocket carry a Glock 19? Why?

You must have very freaking big pockets buddy. The glock 26 is a bit smaller, not by much though. It would be a bit easier to carry in the pocket, but why not just get a nice iwb holster and carry the g19 like normal people. No pun intended.

I detest IWB as well.

The 26 is smaller but just as wide. Some people report shooting the 26 more accurately than the 17 or 19.

Really?

You carry a G19, in your pocket, and you are not printing?

I find that pretty hard to believe...what do you do when you are not wearing cargo pants with huge pockets?

I have a G26 that I pocket carry only occasionally because I don't find it very comfortable, with marginal concealability, and a compromised draw. With all that, though, I have to think that the G26 has to be noticeably better than a G19.

Stuffing a G19 into even a large pocket must make for a very inconsistent and fumble-prone draw.

I respect that you will not carry IWB.

It seems that exploring alternative carry methods may be a better path. Perhaps OWB/overshirt?

I do the same thing with my 357 snubbie and my P01 sometimes... I bet the g26 would be more comfy, but it would be minor. Have you tried any owb holsters? That might be another viable option...

Also, Amsdorf, I carry my P01 in pocket in a remora sometimes, it fits quite nicely in my slacks, I just can't carry anything else in there, and the draw is fine, a back tilt, pull, not a problem. The g19 is the same size, with less snag able items, I'd imagine no issues there, either.

A G26 is on the fringe of being pocketable, i dont see how the heck you carry a 19.

Are we taking about the cargo pants pocket on the sides? or the actual regular front top pockets? Because people wonder how I carry a Glock 26 in my front pockets. I have no problems, but a Glock 19? wow you are a magician, I can carry the 19 in the side bottom pockets.

? very simple, try other holsters then, theres thunderwear/smartcarry/lightning wear, shoulder holsters[kangaroo holsters/kangaroo carry] and other things.

I had a G23 and later a G19.
I had difficulty concealing either one IWB or in a Smartcarry.
I cannot imagine any double-stack as a pocket carry, unless you are one BIIIG dude and wear some seriously baggy drawers.

I can fit a Glock 17 in my pocket, regular Wrangler jeans. If I wear a looser shirt, button down and untucked you can't tell I have it on me when I am standing. It is definitely noticeable when I am sitting and really uncomfortable but standing you can't tell. For the Glock 26, it will weigh a little less and should disappear a little easier than the 19 if that is the route you really want to go. Maybe a belly band or something might work as well.

I have pocket carried a glock26 and a Walther p99 compact before. They do bulge, but it could be anything in your pocket. I now pocket carry an M&P Shield. Much thinner and more comfortable as you walk.

But, believe it or not, I have pocket carried a beretta 92 compact a Time or two before. Yes, it makes a pocket bump, but once again... It could be anything in your pocket...

But, a smaller gun does work better...

Yeah, the G26 is easier to pocket carry than a G19. Get an Alabama kydex pocket holster for the G26 and you're GTG.

Ive carried my G26 in a large coat pocket, but that is all. Can't even imagine any bigger. Normally it's for biking and then in a Kydex holster OWB.

G26 Deception

If you lay a G26 atop a G19, you'll notice how close they are in size. Yet, a think the G19 is a bit much for pocket carry, not that the G26 is much better. I sold my 100% reliable G26 as it offered too little advantage over my G19 and I much prefer the grip on my G19.

For pocket carry, why not consider a Glock 36? Personally like most of the other commenters, I can't imagine carrying a 19 in a pants pocket. For perfect pants carry get a Ruger LCP or equivalent size 380. I really like my j-frame 2-inch, but revolvers are harder to hide in a pocket than a slim auto. I just bought a Ruger SR40c that I think I could carry in a SmartCarry and is about the same size as the G26.

I think it would be uncomfortable carrying a g26 in your pocket! I only carry mine in a in the waist band holster, and I can barely tell its there. For pocket carry I would consider a pistol about the size of a ruger lcp.

The G26 is a lot smaller than the G19 so only you know how and what you can carry. In can tell you I can easily carry a G26 in my pocket of my coat. Waist band carry is easy and I can do it in sweatpants.

The micro glocks are pretty good for carry. I have the Glock 33 (I think its the 33) in 357 sig. I like it alot and i can pocket carry it if I have the right pants. The only down side is I wish I had gone with the 40 or the 10mm... im not picking on the 357 sig was just uninformed when I bought it.

Cajun, you never wear normal jeans, khakis, or dress clothes?

I don't know how you would fit a G19 or any other pistol that size with anything other than cargo shorts. why no IWB?? I respect your decision but unless you never leave your home or have to wear different pants, you'd have to adjust your CCW setup (different pistol or diffent carry setup).

G26/27 would definitely be an improvement.
