Strange shell
Don't think I've ever seen anything like this. It's a .30 carbine case but
with extra brass inside. I noticed it when I loaded the powder, the level was much higher than the other cases. It looks like the bottom half has this insert and it goes about 2/3 rds around the circumference. The headstamp is PS which I think is some Polish maker. It's not another shell of some other caliber, just seems to be another layer of brass. Strange! |

Looks like a shell jammed inside of another shell. I see it all the time when I have a smaller shell accidentally tumbling with slightly larger ones.

Maybe 25 auto tumbled together with the 30 Carbine, as stated above.

You have another case inside of that one. That is why when I tumble multiple cals of brass, I count how many go in and how many come out. Just me though.

May be true but I don't load anything that would fit inside that
case so it must have been done by a previous reloader. When I look thru the primer hole from the bottom it does look rather thick so it may be another case. Now the challenge is I HAVE to get it out just to solve the mystery. |

I wish. I've been trying with dental pics but there is no movement.
I may have to get the Dremel out and cut the case. Just wondering, are there 21 that are more awesome than you? |

It must have already been removed. The case mark said 76 so if that
is how old it is no telling how long it has been in there. The tubing cutter sounds like a good, I know I have one somewhere. |

Solved
The dental pick finally worked. It was a 22 with a hole punched in it.
My guess now is that it was in there when I deprimed the 30 cal and I just punched on thru it. Speaks well for the power of a Forster press. |

If you're not going to inspect your rifle brass before resizing you should think about getting a Lee sizing die. The decapping pin would have come up and let you know there was a foreign object in the case.
