I have a Win 1300, 22" barrel, 20gauge, with modified choke. Can I shoot slugs and will it harm my gun?

You are okay to shoot slugs. Just be sure correct chamber size used (2 3/4" or 3"mag) and gauge (12 or 20). I think all the NEW 1300s are 3"mags. Usually slug will shoot through anything except FULL choke. And even then some FULL chokes might shoot it. If you want to run an experiment and sacrifice one shell. Cut the slug out. Dropped it through your barrel. Surprise, suprise. Probably only hit the inside walls twice or once going down. Get the 1 oz. They are about 1600 fps as compared to 1750 fps. Smooth bore, the most versatile firearm you will own. Shhh, don't tell Sarah Brady.
