My uncle recently gave me a shotgun and I'd like to know a little more about it and its worth. If anyone knows please e-mail me. Thank you. The shotgun is a single shot blackpowder gun with a damascus steel barrel labeled fine twist. The manufacturer is Forehand Arms in Worster, Mass. The serial number is 29301 and it was patented Feb.4 1896.

Mike,
Go over to gunshop.com and ask. This group knows older guns better than most and focuses primarily on side-by-sides and O/U guns. I suspect that your gun was made in the U.S. and was sold by one of many hardware stores that had guns stamped with their name. Tell us about any proof marks on the action flat as that will help. |
