Sig M400 Almost Screwed!

Shooting today at the river bar (sandy as hell) and some how got sand and tiny tiny rocks in the chamber upon dropping a mag and reloading. slammed the bolt shut on the fresh round and it jammed. looked inside and the bolt face smashed a rock against the breech face (barrel extension). I tripped out worried that i broke something and stripped it all down, no visual sign of damage so i used a bottle of water since i didnt bring oil with me and squirted the rifle down inside and out and fired 200 more rounds. would i know by now if something was going to break because of this jam. fired 200 more rounds with out one issue and all seems well. what a tough rifle.

If there's no visible damage you'll be fine. It would take a bunch more than a rock getting stuck between the bolt face and barrel extension to bust an AR-15 of anything even approaching decent quality.

ARs are tougher than people give them credit for.
