Collet die,,anybody use them?

Anybody out there use the Lee collet die for a necksizer? Better/worse than a standard necksize die?

Nukem,

I have used the Lee Collet neck sizer die on a .25-'06. It is a superior method to adjust neck tension on the bullet for bottle neck cartridge accuracy when you are not resizing the body of the case. It quickly can become a necessity when you are neck turning.

Lee is not the only maker of collet dies. I think Forster makes one.

I have run tests using the Lee collet die (22-250 Ackley and .223) against the Redding Competition Bushing die. The Lee die produces a case that definitely has less runout at the neck. It will also straighten out a case that has been run through the Redding die.

I really hated to see the expensive Redding die turn out an inferior case.
Oh well.

I use 'em for .223, .30-06, and .270. Love 'em!!!!!!!

IMO there's none better than the Lee collet dies.They do not strech your brass, you don't need any lube, and your brass will last longer.
