Remington nylon 76 buttplate
Just found this forum-first post. I have a lever action version of the nylon .22. It has a cracked butt plate. I got a new one but how in the world do I remove the old one. Is it glued on? If so what does it take to get it off? Thanks.

As I recall, the buttplates are glued on.
The stock is Nylon so it takes a special glue, since epoxies and standard glues won't stick to nylon. |

You have to saw the old one off, there is no other way. Leave a bit extra on the stock so you can cut and sand until you get the stock right.
The cyanoacrylate glues should work on Nylon. Jim |
