Which gun would you pick from the following...

It'll be your only gun. You need to grab one and go. Which one would it be and why?

This is for fun, and plus we all like polls.

Also, yes....These are my guns.

Went with the Glock 19. It's the perfect do it all pistol. Good for the range, good for carry, ammo is cheaper and more plentiful. Until recently, anyways.
I've got a pretty big personal stash of 9mm.

I voted for the SIG P229 because of capacity and availability of the 9mm ammo. I suppose you could also go with the G17 & G19 for the same reasons, but I just like SIGs better.

A custom 1911..in .45 acp ....and mine would be a Wilson Combat CQB in
5" ...not a colt (sorry).

Custom 1911 ...reliable, easy to carry, its the gun I shoot the best !
ammo is easy to get ( 9mm or .45 acp especially)..

Glock 19. There is a reason that this is my carry piece.

P226, shot one in .40 and loved it. So I am sure the 9mm will be the same.

Didn't vote because I couldn't decide, but it would be a BHP or any one of the Sigs. Perfection without having to say it!

well from the list I picked the sig 226 but it was a horrible decision between it and the springfield milspec. however if it is my one and only gun I would say none of the above that take my Springfield XDM45 compact instead.

Much as I really don't like Glocks, I voted 19. Large capacity, reliable, simple to operate.

You know, if Glock would just fix that irritating grip angle, they'd sell a lot more.

Only one HK offering and in my least favorite caliber? Bad form sir.

I take my HK P2000. Heck I take both of them. (at least I will when Robar gets me the other one back ).

The Sig Sauer P220 is my choice after years of flipping through other pistols. While the P220 Sig isn't the right choice for everyone, it is for me. It isn't too wide for my hand(most double stacks are), but offered a hammer(for me is a must), and is reliable enough to trust my family's lives and my own to it. It is an acquired taste I guess. I just never have liked striker fired pistols even though they offer a few advantages in some cases.

More than a few good choices in the poll, of which I own more than a few of. But only one pistol for any and every contingency? The HK USP 40. I like the .40 S&W cartridge and the HK pistol is tough as nails and reliable as a baby's wet diaper.
The SIG Model 220 is a close second choice.

Glock 21sf was a close second as I was looking to build one up if I could find a frame and slide for a decent price.

But I voted for the P226 which I have only handled and not even shot because after a carry gun, that will be my next purchase.

Sturdy, all steel and 9mm. Can't go wrong.

All steel? I think most model 226 pistols come with an alloy frame.

I think you know my answer already. Sig P220 - possibly the finest non 1911 gun ever made. Looks, reliability, no morning after, chew your arm off embarrassment...

I was gonna go with the Sig1911, but then I read the "only gun" bit, and went with the Glock 19.

It's my favorite size pistol for an all around gun, my favorite caliber for an all around gun, and I do like DAO.
If you'd had a Sig 229 up there with the 220 and 226 it would have been a harder choice.

I might say the P226 but with that cheap feeling E2 grip I wouldn't want it.
So I pick the Glock 19.....long as it's a gen 3 and not 4. Reliable, lightweight, simple, accurate, good capacity, ain't possible to go wrong with that gun.
When you say "only gun" to me that shortens that list considerably.

I can't believe there are no votes for the Hi Power. A gun with such a great reputation to me should garner at least a few votes in this poll. It's a perfectly usable gun, day in and day out I think.
