Yep. 7,000 to a pound. 437.5 to an ounce. No converting is required. On-line conversion sites are always handy though.

Or just type any conversion, weight, measurement, currency, etc. in the search bar on google and it will convert it for you.

Yeh, like Namer said.

Type "ounces to grains" (without the quotes, of course) into a Google search box and get an instant conversion. It works with just about any conversion one can think of ... I just tried "fortnights to days" and got the response "1 fortnights = 14 days".

Guys, Guys, why mess around with that when you can use the the little program I posted. Plus it's good for many, many other conversion. It's a small download file and sits on your desktop for easy, easy access. Only trying to help you out and make it easier for everyone. Try it, you'll like it. Oh, and you don't have to be on-line to use it.

Holy crap, I have a funny feeling that is by far the most useful thing I'll learn this week!

That is cool, I didn't know about that. Google is quite handy. Thanks!

Not that I don't appreciate the application, but everytime you download and install an application you are trusting a little more (not just for malicious intent, also for programming that doesn't cause any problems).

I just navigate to google. I've never installed their toolbar.

Well, I did, once, some years ago, and it messed with my system.

The Google feature is new to me, too. I normally use Mathcad, which has built in unit conversions, but that's because I am usually trying to convert compound units, which it tracks. Way more than you need for a single unit though. That Google feature is neat.

That google trick is quite nice!

And Mike, have you tried Mozilla Firefox as your browser? I'll never go bacl to IE after trying Firefox a few years ago. Tabbed browsing so you don't have to have a bunch of different windows open. Google built right into the address bar. Many more security options. Plus there are many free plugins. My favorite is Adblock. I suggest everyone try it.

Agree on Firefox, but will point out some sites won't run properly on it (windows update for one, though that is no doubt intentional). If you are using it and run into something that doesn't work, you can always turn on IE for that one site.

IE's latest incarnation has tabbed browsing, too, by the way. MS is often late to catch up, but they usually do. The main exception is they maintain the fundamental insecurity inherent in making a browser part of the OS kernel. Was a great competitive move for knocking out Netscape as the premier browser, back when, but now doesn't seem nearly as important as the security sacrifice involved. At least, not to me.

My digital scale does all the converting I need.
Ounces, grains, carats grams, it don't care.

Yes Nick, Firefox doesn't play nice with the MS monopoly sites. MS has always been behind.

But just think if Bill didn't steal DOS and rename it MS-DOS. We'd all be typing on MAC's that would only be upgradable by Apple!

Wait a minute. PC owners think the only way to upgrade their PC's is to buy a new Dell PC

LOL Gotta love capatalism

If anyone wants to know how to build there own computer PM me. It's very easy.

I'll shut up now since this has nothing to do with reloading LOL.

"And Mike, have you tried Mozilla Firefox as your browser?"

Yes.

Interestingly enough, I went BACK to IE.

Why?

Because Mozilla won't run a number of the sites that I need.

On the other hand, I HAVE to have Mozilla on my desktop for working with the GUIs required of my job.
