Colt Defender Recoil Spring & Guide
Recoil spring tried to sneak between the recoil spring guide and bushing today. Jammed it up good and even after getting it free it still failed to feed on a regular basis, very unusual for this gun. Checked out Brownells, Midway, Wilson, Wolfe and other sites, no luck. Found a post on a 1911 forum about buying parts from Colt direct. Not only did they list the correct parts but they were cheaper than any price I found on sites that didn't have the parts! Ordered the guide assembly and recoil spring for less than $40, Brownells wanted $55 or so for the guide alone. Shipping was reasonable too.
I've been visiting the Colt site to look @ the pretty new guns, now I know it's good for other things too!

USPS and Colt deliver!
Got a nondescript envelope in my PO box today. Colt shipped the parts I ordered Monday, I got them today. Put my old friend back together tonight. Thanks, Colt!
Now if I could just find a 1911/2011 XSE Commander!
