Ser # lookup S&W 1 1/2 .32 Rimfire

need a quick serial # lookup on an old I think Smith and Wesson model 1 1/2 32 rimfire Serial number 111718. Is it worth spending the $50 at S&W to do the history? Thanks, Steve

I doubt even S&W could give you more than an educated guess on that old a gun. That serial number would have to be a Second Issue, which was made from 1868-1875, serial numbers 26302 to 127100, for about 14400 per year. So your gun was likely made in 1874.

If the gun is in average condition and with no known historical value, the cost of the letter probably would not be worth it, but it is always a gamble.
