Old Marlin 336 or not?

I just bought a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington caliber. The old guy didn't know when it was manufactured. He has had it for a long time! It looks almost like new! Its blueing and metal is 95% and the wood is 99%! I cannot seem to find the DOM for the rifle. The serial number is S21XXX Any help will be appreciated! Thanks! Ken

According to a chart in the Fjestad "Blue Book of Gun Values" the S prefix indicates 1958-1959 production.
