Searching for a holster

I want to carry my 5in 1911, so I've spent a good bit of time researching holsters and trying some on at a couple of local gun stores, but so far I haven't found anything that works for me. I've found some IWB holsters that are comfortable enough when walking around, but none of them allow me to sit down. None of the OWB holsters I've tried ride high enough to conceal the gun without wearing a ridiculously long shirt.

I guess what I need is the highest riding belt holster I can find. Any recommendations?

Galco Fletch holster or Bianchi Shadow are two good options.

I use the Fletch and am very happy with it.

My buddy uses the Shadow and it conceals very well for him.

Keep in mind, with a heavy full size gun you need a good leather gun belt. If you don't have one, no matter what holster you use the gun is going to sag. That makes carry much harder to carry and conceal.

Wilson Combat's Lo-Profile holsters supposedly ride high but I cannot verify that personally. http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Lo-Profile/products/196/

That's the reason I carry a Commander sized 1911.

MR. TCL

Check out the "super-tuck" iwb holster by crossbreed holsters. They also offer an outside-of-the-pants version called the "snap-slide".

Whenever you see that the belt goes through the slots below the trigger guard, the gun is gonna ride pretty high.
