Use a torx driver. You might find a torx bit that is just the right size, or have to use a larger size and hammer it into the screw head.

An ordinary easy out can also work. But if you have to drive the Torx or the easy out in, make sure you support that side of the frame; if you don't you will squeeze the frame and have a heckuva time getting it back in shape.
There are other ways you can go, based in part on whether the gun uses grip screw bushings and whether it is important to preserve the grip. Once you do get the screw out, take the other three out and trash them. Go to either Torx or to a regular slot head; either is better than the Allen type. Jim |

friend of mine had a set of easy outs, chucked one into the drill and it came out very easy. gotta agree with Jim on the Allen hex heads, nothing but a problem waiting to happen. this is on a defender....getting ready to set it up w/slim bushings an screws for a more thinner grip. again.....thanks to all.

When you put grips on a gun with bushings, make sure the screw heads bottom on the bushing and just touch the grips enough to keep them solid. That prevents crushing the grips, which should not be done and is not necessary. Also if you use slim bushings, make sure you shorten the screws if necessary so they don't protrude into the mag well and scratch the mag or prevent it from moving freely.
