Haven't shot the hunter but I have the 9.5 inch barrel version. I can hit pop cans at 75 to 100 yards with it from a rest great shooting gun. Next step is putting a scope on it and seeing how it will do on squirrel head size targets at about 50 yards. Absolutely great guns have fun with it.

So this is a picture of the ruger Hunter i just picked up at the top, with the rest of my single actions as well. After shooting it a lot this weekend I've decided a better scope is need. It's got a BSA 2x20 on it. anything over about 20 or so yards is hard to see, so I"ve ordered a simmons 2-6x32mm for it. not to bad there on sale at midway for 109.99 so i figured I"d try one out.

Good looking guns. My collection is only up to two right now my single six and I just got a blued 357 with 6.5 inch barrel. Haven't had a chance to get it to the range but I think it's already my favorite gun damn it's perty. I'm going to try a red dot on mine I think one of the open jobs.

Single Six Hunters are one of the best kept secrets out there. The down side is they are expensive when new and don't hold their value. But then again, what kind of fool would sell one to begin with. They are excellent pieces. Enjoy!
