Maybe the K-31 owners are buying them all up? I bought some of mine at a gunshow, and some at a local dealer. I checked a few places online, and didn't find any...

Grafs has 7.5 Swiss brass in stock. No need to use the 284. Unless you prefer it to 7.5. I ended up buying 100 cases of 284 about 3 months, but haven't had a chance to load yet.
Don't intend to hijack the thread, but has anyone loaded some light loads, say with 10 grains uf Unique?? What kind of drop can I expect at 100 yards?? |

I bought my .284Win about a year ago. Both batches cost me $5 per 20, which translates to $25 per hundred. Much less than the Graf's 7.5 Swiss.
If you can still find it any .284Win....

Leftover, you're right, there's no affordable 7.5 on Grafs.
But one could maybe buy 5 boxes of Prvi Partizan at 11 bucks a box, and reuse the brass....I may just do that , if my 284 doesn't work out. |

I did just that sindiesel666. I purchased 5 boxes of Prvi Partizan ammo, which was worth the $ 11.00 a box. After I fired all 100 rounds, I started working with 40 of the cases just for testing to see how the brass would hold up. I'm on my fourth reloading at this time. I have FL resized after every firing and have only had to trim the brass once. The brass are holding up great and show no signs of neck splitting or case head seperation. I'm not a velocity freak when it comes to my reloads, so brass normally lasts a long time for me. I would recommend the Prvi Partizan or Wolf Gold ammo to anyone. (Wolf Gold brand ammo is made by Prvi) Graf and Sons also carries Prvi partizan 168gr HPBT bullets that are $ 10 for a 100 at dealer cost. I have had "good" success with the Prvi bullets, but prefer to use Hornady or Sierra 168gr HPBT Match grade bullets. Good Luck

284 brass is not a big seller for Win, and I am confident that they only make runs of certain offerings once a year. So, it is cylic when the brass supply is tapped out! There is plenty of 6.5-284 brass mfg out there Hornady and Lapua come to mind.
Call John Walton at Gunstop Reloading Supplies Inc. 14410 Excelsior Blvd. Minnetonka, MN 55345 1-800-645-7644 (952) 474-0211 www.gunstop.com He usually has a good supply of brass! |
