Can you use Mag primers in place of regular?

Can mag. large rifle primers be used in place of standard large rifle primers, if the powder charge is reduced? I normally load with Winchester Large rifle primers, but a friend gave me half a case of Federal Mag large rifle. I'm wondering if I can use them or not.

Thanks

Yes, you can substitute. You should reduce the powder charge and work your load up again.
