I like it too, but it might be a harder to sell (or at a lower price) at trading time.
I dont really look at guns as investments, but 10 years later as prices climb theyre often worth close to the original price, I'm not sure it would work that way for different colors? |

I got an FDE Gen 3. My first Glock. Couldn't resist. However, it rains brass all over me, but that's another story and, of course, not color related.

Personally, if I were going to buy a used glock and there were 10 black ones, and one in FDE, I'd probably get the sweet brown one. It's a better conversation starter.

Just picked mine up last week.
I have no intention of selling it and it was almost $120 cheaper than an all black version.

^$120 less than black? Thats certainly a better deal than a used one, regardless of color.
Who knows, 50+ years from now the colored Glocks may be worth a small fortune... |

I disagree. IMO they just proved the Glock could be uglier.

Eh... whatever floats your boat, but I like my Glocks in any color, as long as it's black.

The first batches of light colored frames had a defect in the formula, with rapid degradation of the plastic.
I hear they fixed that quickly and recalled those frames, but it would pay to be sure before buying a used tan or brown framed Glock. |

I'm not going for this discolored Glock frame fad seriosly until they at least offer it fire engine red with bright orange flames on the side, complete with a black/white spotted dog emblem on the box.

Likewise, the older 1st-gen Walther P99s that had OD frames sell for a premium as well. |

A quick search found an old thread on Glock Talk where this was being discussed in relation to the OD frame, with many opinions but not much in the way of fact. The black pigment originally used in Glock Polymer frames is highly Ultraviolet resistent. I have a tool bin made of a softer plastic with similar black pigment that has sat outside in the sunlight since 2003 and shows no sign of degradation, while the bin next to it without the black pigment disintegrated after less than half that exposure. If the present non black colored frames are holding well thats fine, as I remember it the problem was discovered quickly and dealt with quickly. But as with the other numerous upgrades and recalls, its best to be sure any used Glock you run across doesn't have any hidden suprises. |

I'd like to have one that is clear (see thru) so that I could observe the functioning. It would be instructive.

There is only one thing that could possibly make a Glock any uglier then it already is and that would be to make a brown one. (insert puke icon here)

It's okay looking to me. I think it will be like the green ones. They won't sell as well as the standard black and end up being cheaper simply because of the color.
