6mm Wsm

I read in other forums that the 6mm 105 gr. a-max loaded to 3200 fps will blow up. My question is this still true. I loaded the 6mm wsm with 60 grains RL 25 and chronagraphed at 3487 fps with the a-max. I am going to cut that to 58 grains because I think it is a little hot. I was still hitting the gong at 700 yds only because of 18" dia. but apparently the a-max's were not blowing up. Appreciate any expertise using the a-max.

Thanks,

Obviously, if you hit the gong at 700, they are not spinning apart. How do they shoot?

Scorch,

They shoot okey but i get the occasional flyer, 0.75 4 shot 0.90 5 shot. I'm going to back off 2 grains and see what happens. The sierra 107 grain shoots a little better but would it be a mule deet bullet. Or will the a-max be a good mule deer bullet. I had the rifle made for a long range mule deer rifle. I'm really pleased with the job pac-nor did. I know it will shoot better I just have to find the right combindation.

What twist rate did you order?

The twist rate will determine what weight bullets you can optimally shoot and can help predict if there is a danger of bullet disintegration.
