6mm Wsm
I read in other forums that the 6mm 105 gr. a-max loaded to 3200 fps will blow up. My question is this still true. I loaded the 6mm wsm with 60 grains RL 25 and chronagraphed at 3487 fps with the a-max. I am going to cut that to 58 grains because I think it is a little hot. I was still hitting the gong at 700 yds only because of 18" dia. but apparently the a-max's were not blowing up. Appreciate any expertise using the a-max.
Thanks, jde650 |

Obviously, if you hit the gong at 700, they are not spinning apart. How do they shoot?

Scorch,
They shoot okey but i get the occasional flyer, 0.75 4 shot 0.90 5 shot. I'm going to back off 2 grains and see what happens. The sierra 107 grain shoots a little better but would it be a mule deet bullet. Or will the a-max be a good mule deer bullet. I had the rifle made for a long range mule deer rifle. I'm really pleased with the job pac-nor did. I know it will shoot better I just have to find the right combindation. |

What twist rate did you order?
The twist rate will determine what weight bullets you can optimally shoot and can help predict if there is a danger of bullet disintegration.
