C'mon. If the stuff got as far as Minnesota, you think it never crossed over from eastern to western CO? I'll be hunting next week in Wyoming, in an area that has not tested for CWD (north of the Colorado area that tested positive), but I'm planning on getting my deer or elk tested. The issue that's been bothering me is the effect on all the small game that no one thinks of testing, that runs around in the same areas. Like my wife says, you have to die of something! Might as well be doing what you want.

CWD is contracted by consuming spinal or brain matter from an infected animal
the deer & elk most likely got it from eating tainted feed on a farm or from a feeder it should burn out the infected animals but not jump species except fer those eating the carcases Mad Vulture disease? Mad Yote disease? Mad Bear disease? Mad Lion disease? |

Take some rubber gloves for field dressing (always a good idea, ever try to wash your hands on top of some mountain?).
Take care to not saw through the spinal cord and let the shavings contaminate the meat.

Hey DZ,
Would you mind citing your source. (I like most of your news stuff BTW) Just been involved with the "control" and have been trying to stay up on the current events and had not heard an authoritative source say anything like that. Thanks |
