Case Gage Manufacture
I am planning on purchasing some case gages (223 and 30-06) and am trying to decide between Dillon and L.E. Wilson.
Is one of these manufactures better than the other? If one manufacture is better, please explain why. Thanks in advance for the help. |

Dillon makes mainly pistol case gages with the exception I believe of 223, 308 and 30-06. Wilson makes all of the major rifle calibers. The only thing that stands out about Dillon is that they make their gages out of stainless steel while the Wilson are not stainless. I own both and also Midway pistol gauge set and they all work fine for me.

If you want stainless you might check with your L.E.Wilson distributor. Wilson has started to use stainless in parts of their product line. I don't know what the current status is regarding the material used in gauges.

Guys, benchresters use Wilson. I've corresponded with the guy who runs it.

Hey guys, I use a headspace guage, a COAL gauge, and a case length gauge to know the exact dimensions of my chamber. What does this drop in thing get you...just the knowledge that your round will allow the bolt to close? Remove the firing pin and your gun will tell you that.
If I'm missing something, let me know.
