???New Mexico hunting

Questions for the NM hunters,
1. Do you have general elk seasons and areas or is it all special draw?t
2. If yes to above is access a big issue?
3. Same question,,deer regs.

I am trying to decide where to retire,,long term. I plan to still work but in a self employed manner. Looking at retiring early at about 56yrs old.
Requirements..hopefully are:
Some type of winter, just not the 30 below of Wyo.
Live in the trees...yay
Live near an interstate highway: for the S/E business part of the equation.
Of course, elk and deer hunting, fishing, etc.
