cheaper than dirt outrageous fees

Has anyone else.found It totally.ridiculous that they now ship frontline 5 warehouses that all have different prices and charge individual shipping fees. It took meabout30 minutes to go back and consolidaye my order to as few shipping warehouses as possible. Still 5 or 6 small items ended up being about $100. $60 total and $40 shipping. I emailed them saying Its ridiculous and their response was very arrogant so I ordered from The Sportsmans Guide. I'm completely done with CTD.

I do agree the multi-warehouse = multi shipping fees is a poor business model.
I too rarely order much from CTD anymore with the exception of ammo which comes from one warehouse. They do have good prices on certain items, however the multi-shipping philosophy will most certainly drive off customers. This is CTD's problem, not the customers.

Many companies have multiple warehouses and ship things seperately but it works for them and they dont charge outrageous shipping fees. Hopefully it will effect business and NOT continue much longer.

I also dont get how the same item in one warehouse is $10.15 and another warehouse is $17.18.

how and WHY would a company sell the exact same items for different prices? My Graduate degree is in business and I still cant fathom this.

Bad business model!

At this rate the different warehouses might as well be different companies.

Agree with Dennis,
I order parts from Numrich and they ship from several warehouses, yet I am charged only one shipping fee. Interesting, I too am an MB.

I have ordered from CTD for years and just about stopped when they started the mult-warehouse model.

And I also have to agree that by the time you pay shipping from one of the "major" on line retailers its no cheaper than making a trip down to one of the big box sporting goods shops for what you need.

Of course a guy could say it's really no more expensive either and saves the trip.

could be they are a middle man drop shipping for several other companies much the same way rock auto does in the car world.

Costs of labor, fuel, taxes all differ at each warehouse maybe?

You have to make money or you are not business for very long.

Wait til the fuel pinch really gets going ...... it's coming.

With more states starting to charge tax for online purchases, we may see sales from companies like CTD drying up entirely.

Lucky Gunner

or Cabelas when they have a flat rate or free ship. One might have to think we've geared up by now, right?

At least Rock Auto doesn't charge different prices for the same item at different warehouses. I bought some ammo from CTD once, after I got done getting everything from one warehouse there was a savings over Lucky Gunner but probably not enough to pay for my time and aggravation.

Also, I don't care what oil costs, 17.66 is not a reasonable charge for S&H for a box of ammo.

I've canceled more than one order once I got to the shipping screen. Sometimes you get there and it's so ridiculous you might as well just buy retail.

I have to echo that sentiment,I've canceled many orders at their checkout page.I'm in the trucking business and their shipping/handling charges are outrageous.

Not that it will likely do any good, but I plan on emailing them this forum link as it grows.

I won't buy from CTD just because they have to charge sales tax as well as shipping.
