I believe my new gsg 1911 22 might be better than my M&P 22
Went to the range this week & was surprise how well my new gsg 1911 22 shot the bulk ammo I took along. I love my S&W M&P 22 but I think the gsg might be better when it come's to shooting bulk ammo?

It's prolly me but I can't seem to
get much in the way of accuracy out of my GSG 1911-22. I wish the handgun was built as well as the magazine. |

I've been nothing but impressed with the pistol, (including the magazines), as it has exceeded what I expected. Having purchased other fun .22s such as the p22 and Mosquito that disappointed, I thought the GSG would be similar. The GSG has a pretty good trigger, good sights, more accurate than anticipated and it feeds and fires without problems. I paid about $400 for the gun, an extra mag, 100 rounds of MiniMags and a bottle of oil. Well worth the money... I'm a happy camper.

Will be taking my gsg 1911 back to the range this week. Read how good the CW Accessories guide rod & spring upgrade is that I went a head and purchase the set.
Really can't see how much better the gun can shoot but at lease I don't have to worry about the guide rod breaking. |

I've fired both the M&P 22 and the GSG 1911 22. I own the M&P and one of my best friends owns the GSG. I love both guns. Being a single action, the GSG has the sweeter trigger. The M&P has the sweeter grip feel and better overall balance. The M&P is also easier to field strip. Aftermarket grips that fit 1911 pistols will also fit the GSG 1911 22. My friend put a beautiful set of faux pearl grips on his, and it definitely beats the M&P on looks. If I had to pick one over the other, it would be a very difficult choice.

Had a chance to make it to range today with a little disappointed with my upgrade. It had a couple of hick-up's at first but then shot pure good after that. I hope it just needs to be broke in. I'm sure the upgrade will work out but if not I'll go back with the stock guide rod & spring!

Where can I find some more information about the guide rod and spring? I have the same gun that I bought for my gf to shoot and wouldn't mind tinkering with it a bit. I got the Sig version and overpaid a bit, but its fun and shoots fairly decent.

GSGPro.com has an quality product. I put this set in my Sig about a year ago, shot a couple thousand rounds and is still looks good as new. The GSGPro FLGR along with the ZRTactical Solutions slide alignment cone (SAC) have eliminated the rattle with the slide and seems to have helped get me a little better grouping when I shoot.
