winchester low wall
i am looking for information about a winchester falling block rifle. i feel that it is a low wall. i can find no model no., only the pat. date of "oct. 7th. 79". it is in good condition and marked 32 short. help!!! piddler

i feel that we need more information. a picture would help a lot. i think that is the right patent date for a winchester single shot - they were never called high wall and low wall by winchester - but do not have my book here to look it up. the only .32 short i know of is .32 rimfire for which ammunition is not common. we could look up the serial number and tell year made.

piddler, it sounds like you're describing a Winchester Model 1885. I agree with Jim, a picture would be a great help.

winchester low wall
gentelman; i do not have the equipment or skill to post a picture. jim said that the serial no. would help in providing me info., well it is "18626". it is a winchester as so marked just in front of the rear sight. thanks for all your help so far. piddler!!!
