CHL Questions
I have asked a couple of different people and cannot get a straight answer regarding whether I can get my CHL. In Texas in 2007 I received a PI charge that is considered to be a Class C Misdemeanor and was wondering if this disqualifies me from being able to get my CHL. The website FAQ are unclear so any information would be helpful. Thanks.
Also I hope I am posting these threads in the right forums, I'm new and still trying to figure this forum out. |

This is the document that you want. The eligibility requirements start on page 4. Your Public Intoxication charge was a Class C misdemeanor, so I don't see it causing a problem unless you've also been legally declared a "chemically dependent person".
Oh, and welcome to the forums! You could have probably put your post under "Law and Civil Rights", but I think you're fine with it here, too. |
