Wallet Wounded in Caliber War

So I was happy with my Glock 23 (defense), Ruger .45 Colt (woods), and my shiny new M&P 9 (wife will shoot it). Shoot all hand loads in the .45, but only occasionally load some .40 practice rounds. Then, my curiosity is piqued by a long TFL debate over .357 Sig. OK, a few clicks and Lone Wolf sends me a .357 Sig barrel. Found some ammo on the shelf, but yike$. Better get some dies, OK 9 mm too. Might as well see what I can do with these "combatants", but even dies are backordered now. Looking for powder, brass, bullets. Now, the whole point of the Sig round is to match the .357 Mag 125 load out of a 4" revolver, and I didn't have one. Solved by the nice retired fellow behind the counter at Olde English who sold me a GP-100. My credit card is curling up, and I'm on yet another load and test campaign with four calibers to feed. Who says caliber wars are harmless fun!

Midway has 357sig dies.

Southern Belle Brass has cheap once fired 357sig brass.

Falcon Bullets has cheap pills.

Can't help you out on the powder and primers. However, last time I checked, Graf's had Accurate #9 in stock, which is an excellent 357sig powder.

357sig is one of my favorite rounds, and once you figure out how to reload for it, it's even more fun.

I am not sure where you are located but with your handle, any chance that you are in SW PA?

I just bought powder and primers locally near Pittsburgh.

Born and raised in Zelienople - many summers in Ligonier. I'll be there this weekend. Who has powder?

I reload using a Lee 3 hole Turret press with .380, 9mm, .40 &W/10mm,.38 Spl., .357 magnum, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP, AND M1 carbine turrets!

And yes, plenty of primers, power (I use Unique for all but the M1 Carbine, by the 8 lb canister.) And quite a few .380 95 gr FMJ, as well as 125 gr FMJ 9mm, .40, .44, 45, .308 110 gr, and 158gr LSWC!

Expensive? Not if acquired over time.

And that is what I did, bit by bit over years using the Lee as my base and adding cartridges as needed. I even have some in .38 S&W and soon I'll get a turret for it to as well as a .45 LC setup.

For rifle I use a Lyman turret to load all my center fire rifle ammo.
