+1 for martial arts... maybe not the best tactic though (vid)

Click here for video. URL may not be work safe.

Not sure if this was necessarily the smartest thing to do, but it worked out for the guy.

Good guys 1
Bad guys 0

I saw that one on the news, the quickiemart guy was a six time black belt.

The BG actually got his butt kicked.

And the good guy didn't even need a $4,000 Kimber! That's what's so cool!

That would've been a different story if the robber was armed and determined or had a partner.

But, in this case, applause to the quickie mart worker.

Black Belt in what form of martial arts? Huge difference between a Black Belt in tae kwon do and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

they always tell you never do high kicks esp the flashy jumping high kicks... sort of like never shoot from the hip... i guess SOMETIMES it works.

brazilian ju-jitsu works good in the octagon, but if i have a gun concealed, i would not want to get into grappling range. Dosen't apply to vid in origional post, just my thoughts on martial arts in general, UFC made brazilian ju-jitsu popular, but there is a time for grappling, and a time for striking. balance is always a good approach. if there are 2 guys you probably just want to survive untill some bystander, LEO etc intervines. If you put BG #1 in a figure 4 leg lock BG #2 will hit you in the back of the head with a folding chair. have we learned NOTHING from TV?
