Shotgun class within driving distance of SE PA?

Howdy,
I am looking for a shotgun class that is within reasonable driving distance to SE PA. I'd like to avoid flying and shipping my shotgun.
It would be great if there was a place where they also taught some pistol of rifle stuff since I have a buddy who would go with me for either of those classes.
I do not mind driving long distances but I'd rather not have to stop and camp along the way.
Any recommendations?
Thanks team,
Mike

Mike, you don't say exactly what type of class you are looking for. The NRA sponsors classes called "FIRST Steps" Shotgun, pistol, rifle, etc., that are designed to educate people new to the particular firearms in safety, function, and technique of firing them. You can find a list of courses nearest you by digging through the safety and training locations in the NRA website. www.nra.org

I see that there are several offered in Virginia that might be within driving distance for you.

General Defensive Shotgun by Insights Training. Three day course -- this year's offering in Harrisburg was in August, maybe catch them next time around.

I have not taken this course but I've taken other courses at Insights (GDR, CQC, DFK1, 2) and found them to be excellent.

Easton Fish and Game sometimes hosts shotgun classes, I know they had one this summer. Check out http://www.eastontacticalops.com

Thanks Justin,
Sorry I missed you at the Ft. Washington show. One of the lads I was with was in a huge hurry to scoot outta there.
Pretty good show except for the hassle at the door about my "personal weapon".
See ya at Valley Forge maybe? What are the dates again for that?
Later,
Mike

9mmMike,

I actually didn't go to the FW show, I had too many errands to run -- and Sunday I was in a skybox at Giants Stadium for the Jets-Chiefs game.

I dunno what the deal is with the VF gunshows. Supposedly there is one at the VFCC on 12/22-23. And with the rescheduling of the October FW show, who knows if they will hold the one scheduled on 12/15-16. But I am definitely going to the Harrisburg MAAC show at the Farm Complex, 12/8-9. Supposedly 1,200 tables, well worth the trip from Kennett.

Mike, Have never been, but always heard great things...Massad Ayoob's LFI in New Hampshire is well reputed, if a defense type school is your goal. Kinda far I guess unless a weekend or 2+ day is planned. A couple of us fron SE PA are planning a trip to Thunder Ranch in FEB. (air fare very cheap then) all are welcome. Dave
