9mm reloading.
Just looking for input on other reloaders recipies for 9mm 124gr ? Montana Gold HP. I have Win AutoComp, and RS Silhouette on hand. I have primarily used copper plated bullets and don't have much experience with the MG. Thanks in advance.

I use Universal because I also use it for loading 20 gauge. Look on your powder maker's website and use data for 124 gr bullets of same design

9mm reloading.
I love Win Autocomp. Shoots great in my pistol, but YMMV.

I used to use HP-38/W231 but now use Titegroup, but this is for target loads, not high velocity SD stuff.

I LOVE autocomp as well. I have found that it is very clean burning for low power 9mm loads. Most of my 9mm loads just break the min power factor for IDPA. I also use a lot of it in 40.
I load 115g, 124g, and 147g with it and its great in all of them. I'd give you some numbers but I'm on my way to Colorado and all my stuff is at home. |

I love the MG 124 JHP. I found 4.0 grn of Tite Group to be the most accurate in all three of my 9mms. Not a max load but have never had a single cycling issue in several thousand rounds either.

I load Montana Gold bullets exclusively ...and a lot of them ( about 16,000 a year just in 9mm).....and I've been using Hodgdon TiteGroup or Hodgdon Universal ...on all of my 9mm for the past 5 or 6 years.
I shoot 115 gr FMJ RN 99 % of the time...for my range practice / but other than overall length you shouldn't have any issues with the bullets. You'll have to see what overall length your guns like. I put most of my 9mm downrange thru a Wilson Combat 5", 1911 in 9mm...but I also shoot my reloads in a Kimber Tactical Pro 9mm, a 4" gun ....and a Sig 239 or a Sig 226... Good bullets.. !! ( I load Montana Gold in 9mm, .40S&W, .45 acp, .38 spl, .357 Mag and .44 Mag)... |

I use Montana Gold bullets more than anything else. When I can't find the data I'm looking for I will use the load data for the XTP bullet for Montana Gold JHP bullets. It normally runs close. I do start at the bottom (starting load) and work my way up slowly. I find my best loads are normally never at the top end of the listed data. Once you find a load that cycle well you only need to increase to a level where they are accurate.
Montana Gold bullets are designed for accuracy and nothing more. They are quite accurate as well. When looking for something that expands you should be looking for XTP, Gold Dot and bullets like those. I normally load MG 124 gr. FMJ with AA5 powder. |

Silhouette is an exceptional powder for 9mm. If you happen to load your own defense loads it's also treated and has very low flash. It is also very pressure stable and used by the IPSC 9mm major guys. AutoComp is starting to see some use there as well and supposedly was designed for use with compensated pistols. I actually load Silhouette in high velocity .45 ACP JHP loads as well and I when I shot .40 S&W I used it there also. I haven't worked up a load yet where I didn't get excellent accuracy with Silhouette.
