I recently acquired a s&w model 625 and I'm looking for suggestions for 1. a speed holster for use in steel challenge and IPSC style events and 2. a holster for IDPA matches. Thanks in advance.

I make a wide variety of Kydex holsters including holsters for the S&W 625
you can see some photos at this site "http://www.ohio.net/~mjb/index~1.htm" Mike Benedict Talon Tactical Holsters btw they are all IDPA approved |

My shootin' buddy got the Kramer from Dillon for IDPA. Started out fitting quite tight, but he got it broke in okay.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out the holsters mentioned. By the way, I called Safariland today but may have gotten a bum stear. The customer service gal said she didn't list a competition holster for a smith 625. She didn't seem all that familiar with their product line though. Does Earnie Hill still makes a fastrac revolver holster?

The Safariland 002 Cup Challenge will work for the S&W 625, but you may want to reposition the muzzle strap for the 5" barrel. Gilmore makes a version of their Speed Leader holster just for revolvers, as does Nolan Innovation with their Aluminator. (These are all ISPC/Speed Challenge/Bianchi style holsters, BTW.)

Thanks all. I've decided to try the safariland cup challenge for the IPSC/Steel Challenge event. I'm still undecided about the IDPA holster.
