As with any gun video, it teaches us that if it is too loud or too quiet we can just adjust the volume on our computer to make it as good as we want it to be.

Unless specially designed recording and playback equipment is used, recordings of gunshots, suppressed or unsuppressed, are useless for comparing loudness. Even sound-level meters that meet the mil-spec rise time specification for measuring gunshots are somewhat rare (ie, out of production).

A video my daughter took

Here is a video my daughter took. If you were actually there one could not stand the noise level without severe pain or hearing protection.

But the video camera makes it perfectly safe to hear the booms but also lets us hear the low level speaking.

This is with top quality recording gear, not home issue stuff.

The biggest thing I see with home movies is an auto gain control, takes away any range of sound.

Interesting, but what falls off the scope on the .308, the lens cap?

Lurch, You are correct. Not enough time for a re-take. -Jen
