Honestly I would buy one of the Troy Pump action AR's over the Ares.

I considered buying one even though I live in PA and own many AR's I can't hunt with a semi auto and it drives me insane.

I have a .30cal suppressor on order and a .300BO upper in the works... I might take and crimp a spare gas tube to make it a hand cycle for hunting when I want... stupid stupid regulations.

I would like a pump ar one day too

but for where I live, why I bought the ares is all I loose is the pistol grip, munzzle device compared to the typical ar setup
thats it

Using a pump all I loose is semi auto, and if I had the choice between the 2 I would want semi auto more
Plus the ares can accept different uppers out there, I dont think the pump can at all

because with how the ares comes configured I have no restrictions in my state compared to a typical ar
which would require 10rd mags only and mag lock

and since I already have ar's that have to use mag locks and 10 rd mags instead of converting them to lets face it, very ugly looking weapon and hodgepodge of miscellaneous parts cobbled together I could have a purposely built rifle that is sleek and sexy and will work and has some sort or warranty

for those that asked me about my cz sights
I finally had a chance to go shoot it out in the hills
and the biggest problem I ran into, was the white ball on the tip of the front sight was so large, and the rear peep hole was so small the ball totally filled my entire view of the target
Now my targets were pretty small steel plates around 75 yards away

but then your used to ar sights, the cz I couldnt see anything
very hard to get it zeroed in because of this
although using my laser bore I was only couple clicks off the the side
just trying to see my 10 inch paper target it was totally blocked by the white ball

one other thing I ran into a few times, I actually forgot to look out the rear sight
I guess how I place my head im above it slightly
which tells me I probably could of used standard ar height iron sights
maybe because I have that monte carlo stock it does place my head higher

But I will use those cz sights
when I got home I enlarged the rear hole few sizes bigger
Now looking far away I can see much more around the white ball

What I would compare to the large hole on an ar sight
where the cz hole was like the super tiny one on an ar

So im sure now it will be much easier to see far away at tiny targets

here is how large I drilled it out

I had also put an odin works extended mag release lever in hopes I wouldnt have to move my grip to drop the mag, but I still do
it does give me an extra inch of reach now, very solid and so far works fine

I dont usually add stuff like this to my weapons but because it is so far away I will try it and see
it does wiggle alot, can twist up and down and because I guess the receiver may be thicker and your limited to how far the button can screw down it does make for a 5% sticker mag drop
although still drops free if you dont push it hard it can drag free if that makes any sense

I could sand off a couple threads on the mag release so the button can screw down a touch more
but I didnt want to do any permanent modifications to the parts on the rifle because I wasnt sure how the lever would work
maybe later once I see its not going to break or anything I may do that mod
The only weak spot on that lever are the super tiny allen screws
Im wondering if it drops on the lever or if you really had to hit it hard would the allen screws snap?
